Tijmen Teunissen (1997, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands) is a professional dancer based in Rotterdam. Tijmen graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem in 2019 and has since been actively engaged in the field of dance, both domestically and internationally.
Tijmen has been featured in amongst others Bloedbruiloft by Wim Vandekeybus and ITA-ensemble, Uniform by Nastaran Razawi Khorasani, 8:Metamorphosis by Nicole Beutler, A beautiful Imperfection by Michiel van Erp, Losers by Jelena Kostic, and in SOUL#4 by Jérôme Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud.
Tijmen also collaborates with a variety of artists, including Antonin Rioche, Yourie and Marie, Plan D-, Hendrick Aerts, Iris de Jong, Cecilia Moisio, and Mariela Nestora.
In addition to his performance work, he created multiple works such as PLASTIC LIFE, LEX-II (De nieuwe Oost, Palcos Instaveis), Aluminium Birds of Paradise, and An Unintended Dance (Lazy Susan & Co.).
Tijmen is one of the founders of Lazy Susan & Co, a Rotterdam-based dance company that specializes in the creation and production of contemporary dance performances and events, as well as offering professional morning classes.
